Shelving 101

These are my shelves... but in my fantasy world, they're already assembled.

Hmmm... what are these for?

Sooo pretending I knew what I was doing I started putting the shelves together.

This isn't so hard, right?

Errrr.....

Hmmm.... and these little hummers?

Well, after a day and a half (no joke) of assembling the shelves, taking them apart because I did it wrong about three or four times I had to take different parts apart... very frustrating, I have the finished project.

And even though the closet doesn't look clean this is actually very clean and makes me feel very happy. Hooray for organization.
And yes, those are clogs.

in the body

To be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord...

tickling, tearing
this old shirt off.
removing, replacing
shadows and darkness
opening, discovering
your eyes
to see what longing is satisfied.

you will wake up
and walk forth into Light

to the man who leaves a legacy,
i love you more than words can say.
i hope and look to the day when

when faith is sight
and Love is complete.

discovering some nubbins of good advice

I'm trying a new thing where a read 5 Psalms a day and 1 Proverb before starting my bible study. And I have to say, I LOVE PROVERBS!!!

I never understood the importance of both proverbs and psalms. In my mind they were both in the category of good feeling sayings that you can write on a post-it and pin up on your corkboard (ohh how i love corkboards!). I never took the time to read psalms and proverbs at the same time and now that I am I realize how vastly different they are.

I am LOVING Proverbs right now. Want advice on how to make good decisions and not be a fool? Hello?!? Right there midway through the bible... little nubs of advice on how to be wise, discerning, and God-fearing. I love it.

Here are some I have been feasting my eyes and heart upon....

*A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlook an insult.* Pr. 12:16

*Pride only breeds quarrels but wisdsom is found in those who take advice.* 13:10

*Hope deferred makes the heart sick but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.* 13:12

*The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.* 18:10

Braggin' Rights

I feel like I haven't talked about Michael recently... maybe because I don't want my blog to be just about him. But I could talk him a lot! A lot! A LOT!!
Anyway, I would just like to make the announcement that I believe I have the best boyfriend in the world. He completely amazes me.
Seriously!
I felt so spoiled over Valentine's Day it made my toes tingle. :D
Mikey took me out for an amazing dinner and he even shared his meal with me which is a HUGE plus because I don't just want to eat my meal, I want to eat some of his meal so that I am not "missing out" on anything. :)
Then he tried to pick a fight with me.
No, I am not joking. He tried to convince me that we had had a previous talk about how I would come up with part of the plans for V Day. I was at a total loss and could not remember this talk (because it never happened) and so we were going on and on about how I had agreed to help him with plans and how he didn't know where to go unless I had a plan. I was so flustered that i apologized for forgetting!!
Needless to say, I found it pretty tricky and funny. I have a weird senses of humor.
Well, my sweet boyfriend was stalling for time or something because we ended up going inside a spa where he had made resesrvations for me to get an HOUR LONG massage.
Yes, this is my man we're talking about!!!
It was amazing.
And if that wasn't enough he even surprised me with the movie
West Side Story and we watched it with dessert that he had made. Seriously, as I am writing this I can't believe it's all true.
Wow.
I'm not trying to brag. I'm not trying to rub "it" in. All I'm trying to do is give props to my man Michael and tell him,
You are amazing! Thank you for an awesome and very memorable Valentine's Day!!

Rainy day...

For some reason, I haven't been posting...
it's not for lack of things to tell you. Oh, buh-lieve me! I have things to say.
I think it's because I don't know what to say or what not to say. I'm stuck in life now in a perpetual "is this okay to think/feel/say/do"....
not sure if that is healthy or not...
I like to think of it as growing... or growing a filter which my friends used to say I lacked. :) That was in reference to saying whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I no longer feel that way about life or saying things.
Anyway, pictures are "safe"... you can not go wrong posting pictures. So here, on my rainy day, while construction men next door grind metal in my ears, I give you pictures from the last month or so.
Drew's birthday. (Kristine is so excited!)
Me, Lisa, Emily Robbins and Joni at Lee Maschhoff's Birthday Party.

my babies... i love this picture... who is who? if you cover the facial hair you can't tell Eddie from his Daddy....
awwwwww...

Sweet baby!

My little mermaid, Lenora Daye. Oh I how love this sweet child.

I've once heard that "full of the Dickens" (the saying) came from Charles Dickens because he was always up to something... someday we'll all be saying, "full of the Waveland" cause Miss Waveland is full of mischief, laughter and joy. I love that girl. She is such an entertainer!!

And my personal favorite picture.... Miss Adelia True.... what is on this precious girl's face?

That's it for now...
