sharing time

You have to check out this site:
http://sproutedkitchen.com/

Through my lovely and talented roommate Kristine I've been introduced to lovely and talented people. One of these lovely peoples is Sara Morris. She's beautiful and fun! She has passed on recipes to Steen who in turn has introduced them to me.

Check out Sara's new website. You won't be disappointed in the photos, the recipes, and simplicity of them. :)

Friday

Ah, the three day weekend awaits me and I am excited to not only have some much needed alone/down time but I am also the lucky fiance of a man who generously lent me his car. (i didn't even have to ask him!!!!)

What am I going to do this weekend? The thoughts are endless and continuous... visit friends, go to the beach with a book, pick up some books, go explore some areas I'm not familiar with in LA, stay at home and enjoy my apartment (for the last month I'm here), print our wedding invitations, try some new recipes, Santa Monica farmers market on Saturday morning, hang out with Katie who will be in and out of the apartment periodically, enjoy, enjoy ENJOY! life!!

I woke up this morning in a weird funk. I just felt sad or stressed or something. I'm not sure why. I hate when I wake up or get in those heavy, grey sky moods you can't shake. So I'm looking forward to some time alone when I can get some time with God. The past two weeks have been mucho people time so now I'm excited to get some God time. :)

What do you like to do to relax? What are you going to do this weekend? Any fun family gatherings?

so much to say...

I have so many thoughts running through my head. I mean, literally my thoughts are coming at lightning speed.

First off, wedding planning is awesome. There is little that can compare that is as exciting for me as daydreaming not just about the day but the years that I will get to share with the man of my dreams (Lord willing). I love Mikey and I'm so excited to get to be his wife. Whooooooooo!!

Second, I love my church. I love Pacific Crossroads Church!! I never thought I would live to see the day when I actually find a church that I love but God has blessed my socks off with this church. The Pastor is amazing and although I believe this style of church is not the (capitol C) Church and this is the western style church and God can move in any way through us, His Church Body.... it has ministered to me greatly. For my season of life that I am in right now, this church has ministered to me greatly... oh, I already said it. Well, make note of it, it is so awesome I love it.

The Pastor talked today about being honest and I like him cause he pulls his sources and quotes from the Bible and places obscure like Billy Joel quotes. I just love it. Cause secular music speaks to us, no matter what you think... it can shape you. ANYWAY! (see, tangents and rabbits trails... my thoughts are crazy today)

He talked about a changed life and said, "change is not only possible but it's a promise w/ Christ and through Christ." He said that the first thing we need to be changed is to be honest... with ourselves, with God and with others.

I just love where God has me now.

I feel summer is around the corner or perhaps has already arrived. I've received at least two minor sunburns, a flip flop tan line and am already through (almost) a bottle of suntan lotion. :) (spf 8~ hee hee hee)

Ohhh I have a recipe you should try.... here ya go.
Nutty Chocolate Oatmeal Bars
2 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 c. flour

1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/4 light brown sugar
1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
1/2 c. egg whites
1/4 c. smooth peanut butter
3 T light margarine
1/4 c. chopped hazelnuts (i used almonds...)
1/4 c. mini chocolate chips

*pre heat oven to 350F and lightly spray 13x9x2 inch metal pan with cooking spray. in a medium bowl, stir together oatmeal, flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl whisk together brown sugar, applesauce, egg whites, peanut butter and margarine. add this to flour mix. whisk until moistened. fold in the nuts and chocolate chips.

Okay, I'm off. I'm easily distracted today and it's sunny so I might go skip through the neighborhood. :)
