brown paper packages tied up with string...

a few of my favorite things...
just in case you doubted my love... grapefruit, i love you!

yellow accessories, especially on our back patio birds

and yellow accessories on me.

fresh flowers that open before my eyes

pretty slices of lemons and mint leaves garnishing...

first time homemade lemonade and messy hair days.

And one of my top favorites is my Grandma's potato salad.... it makes me so happy to eat it.
(and a special thank you to Alicia for my blog title. Youngest children rule!)

You are an artist! A visual artist, but especially a verbal artist! Did you ever realize art was also one of your gifts? Your list goes on and on... your choice of words, phrases, etc. create a picture that we could see even if there were no visual clues. Thank you for so uniquely sharing your life with us! I love you so! XOXOXO pat-pat pat-pat

You should post the recipe for that potato salad. Mmmm, I'm drooling.

I thought about posting the recipe but I'm kind of protective of my Grandma's recipes... I'll send it to you. But beware, it requires boiling/peeling/chopping 5 lbs. of potatoes, a feat not for the faint of heart. :) haha

Kelli - no drooling in the potato salad.

Just a picture: but memories of innumerable, wonderful family picnics and potlucks over the years; of family you've loved and lost awhile and haven't thought of in too long; of Grandpa sitting impatiently at the table until it was mixed, begging for a big bowl of the stuff before she put it in the 'fridge to cool; laughing around the kitchen table with those you live and die for.

How can a picture bring the taste so vividly to mind; and such sacred thoughts to life?
