Birthday rules, being a girl, and loving Jesus...

Okay, fellas... let's review something shall we?
I know you all know this but I'd like to just ask one thing... that we review this simple birthday rule. And I say this as kindly and gently as I can... because I am speaking, only on behalf of a friend.

I don't care how horrible your girlfriend is~ it is never a good idea to break up with her on her birthday. Let me think... um, nope~ never, my friends, never a good idea. Whether you love Jesus or not and whether she loves Jesus or not... probably never going to be a good idea.

On another note: I've really enjoyed being a girl lately. I know that sounds really silly but hear me out. One of the things I like the most is when I have time to get ready in the morning so I can crank my itunes mix and just have plenty of time to get ready. I love dancing around the house and just being myself with the curling iron in one hand and the mascara wand in the other. I love it. Ha ha!! I'm realizing a lot of weird quirks about me that I am starting to appreciate and love.

I think it's because I've been spending some quality time with Jesus lately and just really desiring to fall in love with Him for who He is and not just for what He did for me. Ya know? Anyway, every day God plops a blessing into my life and I am just overwhelmed today by his goodness. I feel like God is really pursuing me and creating beauty from ashes. So His love in turn helps me to really appreciate who I am and who God has made me.

Hmmm... more on that later.

Does this post have anything to do with my breaking up with Wendy Maier on her birthday (which also happened to be the day she won last place in the "Miss Roberts" pageant and got in a huge fight with her mom)? Because if it does, just let me say I was very young then and I still feel badly, so cut me some slack! That was like, 12 YEARS ago! Jeez...

You should also never resign your pastorate on your daughter's 16th birthday, unless you do it while you dance around the pulpit just being yourself with the curling iron in one hand and the margarita glass in the other.

Wow, I love my family. I love the fact that we are so real and though I would love to sometimes forget my little cultural blunders I'll always have a family who happens to remember everything about me. This is a good thing but sometimes I wander...
Jordan, totally random and no, that's not what I was talking about... but still, cruel. We all have these moments...but seriously. Let it go. ha ha!! Go dance with Banjo, she'll never leave you. Again seriously!
And Dad, if you get any cooler, I'll pop with pride.

Nor should you hook up with a girl on her birthday. Or Valentine's Day. Or Christmas. Or any other day when emotions typically run higher and/or gift-giving is warranted/expected. Or any day remotely preceding any of these days. Just to be safe...
