Three books recommended by my director, Mark Rood.
The book I just finished...
The book I am tackling next, "If" by Amy Carmichael, is her poetry.
And the book that sits on my desk waiting to be read...

Wow, I think I read Rebecca's book 20 years ago, probably in Lake Villa. Time to get a new copy and read it again...maybe my life will take on a few positive changes... Thanks for the tips, Mark and Joanna! Have a sweet day in Jesus. I love you, Joanna! XOXOXO
Looks like you are reading some good stuff! And now, I suppose, you will set out to amass a library to dwarf that of your 'little brother' Jonah?
I had a book in my library years ago, and I thought it was by Amy Carmichael (great Scottish name, by the way!) and the name of the book was something like "The Way It Really Is" or "The Way Things Really Are".
It was a 'report from the mission field' that was uncharacteristically honest, especially about what was REALLY happening in India beyond all of the 'rosey-coloured-pictures' that were normally drawn by the missionaries to 'the folks back home'.
I wish I'd never let it go; and don't know where it went.
Mom, I am really liking rebecca's book. It's pretty cool cause she shares from her life... You would like Amy Carmichael as well. If Dad finds a book of hers, you should read it. She'll make you think and she's an amazing missionary women. Plus, I left behind "the Three Mrs. Judsons" so if you get a chance you should read it. It's amazing. Hey, Dad, if you get any Amy Carmichael books, set them aside for me. Okay? Or bring them when you visit. :) I think both you and Mom would like the "Tale of Three Kings" which is about brokenness. It is SO good. Soooo good. You'd like it. It's a quick read to. Maybe you could find it cheap on amazon or something. Anyway, I love you both.

But if I ever find it again I'll grab it.
